The Imaginarium was installed in the atrium of the Stanford d.school for 24 hours in December 2010. The highly modular nature of the design allowed us to transport and completely assemble the structure in about ten hours, host an evening event, and then remove it completely the next day. The debut media experience included a screening of Charles & Ray Eames’ “Powers of Ten” video with the soundtrack substituted with Jonny Greenwood’s “Popcorn Superhet Receiver.” A line of eager spectators formed and we repeated the ten-minute video again and again for over three hours.
