What if you could conduct an orchestra with your brain? The Krotoscope lets audience members control musical elements with their minds in real time. Levels of attention and meditation are monitored and used to control the quality and form of live music created by the machine. Custom linkages and robotics manipulate acoustic instruments to produce the music without synthesis. The Krotoscope uses NeuroSky wireless EEG technology and was built on the Arduino platform. The Krotoscope was created in collaboration with Santhi Elayaperumal with support from an Arts Grant and debuted at the Cantor Arts Center at Party on the Edge, 2010.
